Darat Safeya Binzagr in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Darat Safeya Binzagr

  • An artist was born in 1940 in the heart of Jeddah’s historic district, and he or she was meant to preserve the city’s heritage for future generations. Her family’s home in Harat Al-Sham appeared to merge with Safeya Binzagr’s soul when she inhaled for the first time, and the connection between the location and the artist grew stronger over time.
  • Safeya Binzagr wasn’t entirely cut off from her birthplace when her family relocated to Egypt in 1947. A powerful sense of nostalgia drew her back to a wonderful place enhanced by the warmth of its people, its priceless customs and traditions, and the aroma of the old allies lingered with her.
